Problem solver for the self-employed – Holvi appoints new VP of Product

Arturo Rivasainz will lead Holvi’s Entrepreneurship-as-a-Service offering across Europe, while developing and accelerating the product strategy

Holvi, the digital banking service for the self-employed, has appointed Arturo Rivasainz as its Vice President of Product. Rivasainz is tasked with driving the business’ “Entrepreneurship-as-a-Service” offering across Europe with a special focus on the core markets UK, Germany and Finland and developing and accelerating the product strategy. Arturo’s focus will be on creating a fast, digital, and easy to understand service tailored to sole traders, freelancers and SMEs.

Holvi’s CEO, Antti-Jussi Suominen, says: “Arturo is an incredibly exciting addition to our team. Holvi’s mission is to support sole traders, entrepreneurs and small businesses across Europe, and in order to do that we need to ensure we’re delivering the right products and services at the right time, within the right context. He shares our vision making life for self-employed easier. Our shared values mean that we’re already pulling in the same direction, and I look forward to showing off some of the great work we’re going to do together.”

About Arturo Rivasainz

Arturo has specialised in fintech for the last 15 years. He led the turnaround of the Middle East’s first digital bank, Gulf International Bank’s Meem, which resulted in deposits of over $1bn; more than any European neobank. Arturo’s experience includes prototyping, building and scaling innovative business models and products across digital banking and lending, payments, SME financing and more. Prior to joining Holvi, he acted as a consultant for brands such as Deliveroo and Salary Finance. Outside of the startup space, Rivasainz has worked for a number of blue chip corporations, including Sony, GE, Santander and Visa. He’s also co-founded the fintech platform Studentfunder, which further reinforces his understanding of not only the market, but the needs of Holvi’s entrepreneurial customers.

Commenting on his appointment, Arturo Rivasainz says: “The market potential combined with Holvi’s product offering and position in the European fintech ecosystem made this an incredibly exciting opportunity for me. There’s a real lack of products and services that address the pain points felt by sole traders and other small businesses. Traditional banks and other service providers are failing to address those issues. Holvi must be an  easy-to-use, intuitive one-stop-shop, completely tailored to sole traders needs.”

Arturo continues: “SMEs and entrepreneurs come in many shapes and sizes. My vision is to find the right solutions for the most pressing problems faced by each of them. A one-size-fits-all approach won’t work. We must focus on narrow customer segments,  execute our plans swiftly and move to the next segment.

Rivasainz officially started his role in February 2020. He will report into Antti-Jussi Suominen, Holvi’s CEO, and will be based at the company’s Helsinki headquarters.

Outside of work, he enjoys the cinema, outdoor sports, history and global affairs.
