Meet the founder of Earths Secret

My name is Amy Peacock, I am 21 years old and I am the CEO and founder of Earths Secret super natural supplements. Earths Secret is an ecommerce nutrition platform providing three complexes for everyday health needs: Calm for reducing stress and increasing focus, Thrive for increasing energy and providing healthy immunity, Sleep to provide quality sleep and rejuvenation when waking in the morning.

I founded this business September 2020 and launched in June 2021, with just being launched in under a year. We are still a relatively new business but the lessons and teachings I have learnt from trying to build this business from scratch, hopefully will provide some insight to other young entrepreneurs. This business was a work in progress for many years and the ethos behind it was created due to my family introducing me to the power of nature at a very young age. 

There’s always a lightbulb moment before the beginning of a new venture. What was that moment for you?

This may sound cliche, but it really was a lightbulb moment for me. I was on holiday in the Caribbean and on the last night, where the sun was just about to go down and created a beautiful dusk light on the horizon, I swam out in the sea until I couldn’t hear anything anymore, there was only the sky, the sea and me. I looked around and was in awe of the beauty around me and I just felt my whole body become grateful and as if a bright white surrounded me, at that moment I decided what my future would look like. There was a knowing that surrounded me that something was going to happen to me soon that would change my life for the better, and then 1 week later the idea of Earths Secret just came to me. I always knew nature and holistic health was going to be a part of my career, but I never took that direct step until that moment. That day changed my life forever, and that's how the lightbulb moment of Earths Secret came about. 

What inspired you to launch your business and what is the end goal?

I had many inspirations into what made me launch my business and the first one was that I had been using all kinds of different natural products for many years and I fell in love with how they made me feel and that's how I fell in love with the power of nature. I have always loved Nature since I was little. I think as humans we forget that we are a product of nature and that everything that surrounds us is also nature. We can get so caught up in everyday modern life that we forget about where we came from and that life is merely this beautiful experience that we can choose whether to feel joyful or we can choose to feel stressed all the time. It's about reconnecting with our ancestral wisdom and bringing this knowledge into our modern life, to help balance the yin and the yan.

From a young age in school, I always was very open minded about holistic health and when I started to study Nutrition and Food Science in school, I was shocked why no one was discussing the power of nature and the miraculous benefits it holds. That's when I knew something needed to change, so I researched more about natural products and the effects they have on our body and I would become entrenched in this powerful knowledge. With the combination of my own and family's personal use of supplements over the years and the ever growing knowledge on the internet about the wide range of health benefits of nature, I created three complexes: Calm, Thrive and Sleep. These supplements combine the power of Nature but are also proven by science. Our end goal for Earths Secret is to be a multi-generational natural supplement company that people rely on and know that our mission is to reconnect us with our traditional roots. 

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt so far as an entrepreneur?

The biggest lesson I have learnt as an entrepreneur is nothing ever comes easy. I know it has been said many times and I had heard it before but never fully understood it until I created my own business. The effort that you put in will always be reflected by the results of your company. Become proactive with your work and dont be lazy, because your future self will thank you later. 

Do you have a morning routine or ritual to get your day started on the right foot?

I love this quote “Win the morning, Win the day”, the morning is so important because it sets you up for the day. I like to stick to this morning routine every day, even if it's hard to get up, I like to do at least one step in my routine. First things first is I stretch and drink half a litre of water to really wake up my body (even when i am feeling extra tired after i do this, I feel so much better). Then in an ice cold shower, I heard from someone that if you accomplish the most difficult thing first thing in the morning then everything that comes after that will be easy.

After my cold shower , I do my hygiene routine, brush teeth, wash my face etc. I then do my 10 minutes of meditation. I like to work on mindfulness, just being present and in the now. After that when I am in a relaxed high vibrational state, I open my journal and repeat some positive affirmations for the day. I also look at my desires and what I want to accomplish. Even just saying to yourself ‘Today is a great day’ changes the whole vibe of your day. Some days I like to do 5 mins of Wim hoff interactive breathing, I am a big fan of the iceman and this breathing technique is so amazing. Then I get dressed and just before I head off to work, I will take some Earths Secret Calm and Thrive. After that I feel energised, calm, focused and ready to start my day. 

What are your thoughts on failure?

I think there is no such thing as failure if you are persistent with your goals. If you have complete faith that your business will succeed, then any failure that comes your way is merely a lesson for you, either to rethink about what you are currently doing or to try to make your existing way work. I love the book “The obstacle is the way” because it reconstructs our belief that failure and mistakes are something that happens to us and not for us and that it is the end of the road. However, if we look at failure as something to learn from as a lesson, then failure will always lead to success. So I try to embrace failure as something I can improve on, it would encourage me to put my effort and energy into my business to make it work. If you have doubt that your business will succeed, try to change your mindset before you continue. You should know that your business will not fail because you are definite in making it a success. 

What keeps you motivated as an entrepreneur when you hit bumps in the road?

Being an entrepreneur has been the most exciting, joyful and challenging part of my life so far and I try to look at creating my business all as an experience and teaching. What better learning than going straight into what you want and learning from all the mistakes that you make. I keep motivated because I love this journey that I am on, even if it can get extremely hard sometimes, I would prefer to take the hard route to get the results I want than to ever take an easy route (that would just be boring). Lifes a video game and I want to move to the next level all the time.

From that moment I haven’t had a doubt in my mind about this business. When you want something so badly, you will do everything in your power to make it succeed. So that is the question, how badly do you want this?

What are your thoughts on ‘no sleep’ culture as an entrepreneur?

Maybe I am biassed since one of my products promotes quality sleep. But I’m not biassed because it's a fact that sleep is an absolute necessity for our body to function properly and for our basic bodily mechanisms to work. Without adequate sleep, we won't have enough energy to get things done, our health will be affected and many other things will go wrong. You gotta sleep, it's as important as drinking water. When motivational speakers scream Sleep is for the weak, or you can sleep when you’re dead.. It's just wrong. Sleep is when your whole body rests, so please sleep, if you don’t get proper sleep you could see your goals getting further away. 

Is word of mouth working to your advantage?

Word of mouth is very important especially when your product is taken like a supplement. We have seen great results from word of mouth especially between family members. Tell us about your journey into this market.
