I have worked in PR for over 20 years. I studied Business & Marketing at Brunel University. When I was a student I worked in John Lewis (so that I could have a discount in Waitrose!) and I thoroughly enjoyed working for The Partnership because the training was excellent and the democratic culture of the business was very inspiring at that age.
Initially, we were inspired by the fact that shopping discounts, quickly and easily, was difficult. You could browse yourself, but that means you’ll never cover every possibility. You could also check out flash sale sites, but they had a limited selection. To truly shop every sale, they had to be put in one place.
Mondays was co-founded by us, Nancy Saddington and Elisabeth Dewey in 2018 and launched a year later.
Ferdinand Metzler is the Founder & CEO of Swiss tech start-up meepl. After graduating from university with a degree in Business & Management I went on to work at Apple and then L’Oréal, but I quickly realised that the “big company” life wasn’t for me and I would be better suited to a startup environment. I then co-founded a Production Company, producing commercials and music videos, but my real passion was in film.

PLIQO, founded by Patrick Tatham. Design-wise, my ‘eureka’ moment came when I found a pair of folding sunglasses with two tiny hinges in the bridge. I applied this principle to a garment hanger, and ‘hey presto’, the PLIQO concept was born.

Melissa Snover is the founder and CEO of Nourished. In 2015, I partnered with the successful German Katjes family corporation, so I was able to immerse myself in the world of food technology and 3D printing, which has since led me to start my current venture, Nourished – a personalised gummy vitamin brand.
In 2019 Christine Kelly (founder of Little Kickers) was nominated by the BFA (British Franchise Association) as one of the 10 most powerful women in UK franchising.
I try and treat The Wern like a brand and ignore the traditional agency model. No retainers. No more than two full-time members of staff and a collective of trusted freelancers so we can scale up and down when we need. Not ground-breaking but not the majority.
Our route into snack manufacture was quite unusual in that Luke & I are passionate ‘ultra’ marathon runners who love being part of the great outdoors participating in extreme events around the globe.
My career back catalogue has been distinctly blue chip/corporate, working across an array of fast-moving, innovation-hungry sectors, including brewing, spirits, personnel recruitment and communication networks.
We knew we could also create a better environment for sales staff, this was the priority for setting up FJP Investment, the need to create better working conditions and encourage a work-life balance!
