Afrikanizm Art Platform now accepts cryptocurrency payments

The start-up Afrikanizm has just announced that it is now possible to purchase contemporary art with cryptocurrency payments. As it happened with Hublot, the Off-White stores in Milan, London and Paris, or the fashion giant, Farfetch, it is now the turn of Afrikanizm Art Platform to join the omnichannel payment solution, in cryptocurrency, allowing investors to buy works on its platform for the promotion and online sale of artwork by artists of African descent, residents in Africa or the diaspora.

The pioneering decision to open access to purchase via cryptocurrency results from the creation of a  partnership with Lunu, a global cryptocurrency platform, reliable, secure and recognised by the major  international reference brands that provide payment systems in cryptocurrency, responding to Afrikanizm's strategy to expand the market and create scale for its business by attracting a new segment of affluent customers anywhere in the world.

With the association with Lunu's tool, Afrikanizm Art Platform now offers its customers the opportunity to  make payments using the most stable currencies of the cryptocurrency market, in a simple way, always  ensuring security, speed and traceability of all financial transactions.

In an increasingly technological world, to which the cradle continent contributes in an increasingly assertive way, in the opinion of João Boavida, founder of Afrikanizm Art Platform, "the online art business is growing fast, although it still represents a very small percentage of the global market volume. This step that we have now taken, in partnership with Lunu, whom we have to thank for their confidence in our brand and business model, reinforces our conviction that it is possible to elevate the work of African creators, by democratizing access to contemporary art, digitally based.

"Africa is a priority for us. We are, therefore, a committed startup with a very clear mission. We want the  digitalization of our continent, and we are committed to being an active part of this change," says Laura Leal, co-founder of Afrikanizm. "We are focused on actively contributing to the reduction of inequalities, through Afrikanizm, not only bringing technological innovation, having as a priority focus the promotion of the culture of all African nations, but also giving visibility to what is best done in the contemporary art segment in Africa," concludes Laura Leal.
