Cashplus to create 150 new Liverpool jobs as it doubles it offices at The Spine

Cashplus Bank, the leading digital SME bank, has today announced the expansion of its Liverpool office, with plans to double its presence in the Northwest over the next five years.

Based at The Spine in Paddington Village, which sits within the Knowledge Quarter Liverpool Innovation District, the move will create around 150 new jobs in the area by 2028.

Cashplus Bank serves a range of businesses and consumers, with a focus on supporting the UK’s small businesses and giving them the same level of access to banking services as their bigger competitors.

The Liverpool office expansion reinforces Cashplus’s commitment to UK-based customer support for its customers with the office home to the company’s operations, customer services and complaints teams as well as a growing number of head office roles in departments including commercial and technology.

As part of the expansion, Cashplus staff will continue to be provided with free travel passes to use on the Paddington Shuttle service, providing employees with direct connectivity from nearby car parks and train stations to The Spine.

Colin Webb, Operations Director, Cashplus Bank: “The business case for expanding our second headquarters in Liverpool, and doubling down on our commitment to the Northwest, was straightforward and easy.

“This is a dynamic city and one of the UK’s biggest financial centres with a wide community of financial services and technology experts, not to mention an excellent future talent pool with two leading universities. Over the next few years, we hope to further continue to grow our presence in Liverpool, bringing jobs and opportunities to the area.“

Cashplus moved into The Spine, which is pursuing a Platinum WELL Standard Accreditation, in September last year after taking space within the Sciontec AI (all inclusive) space, operated by Sciontec Developments Limited (Sciontec).

Leanne Katsande, Head of Commercial at Sciontec: “Attracting Cashplus Bank to The Spine was a significant moment for Sciontec and having a fast growing, leading UK Fintech brand located within the Sciontec AI space has not only added to the dynamic ecosystem, but is a driver for even greater job creation, economic growth, and innovation in the coming years.

“We are excited to see what the future has instore for Cashplus and look forward to helping it grow its presence in the building and the wider Knowledge Quarter Liverpool Innovation District in the years to come.”
