Data market leader Dufrain secures investment to expand operations in Scotland
Dufrain, the market-leading data management and analytics consultancy, has secured investment from Phoenix Equity Partners (“Phoenix”), the private equity investor in medium-sized UK companies, to fuel the next stage of its growth in Scotland’s competitive technology sector.
Founded in 2010, Dufrain helps its clients discover, manage, and optimise their data to gain valuable insights and make better informed business decisions. It’s strategic approach and reputation for excellence has seen it become a trusted partner to clients of all sizes and across sectors, with a particular focus on banking and financial services, delivering year-on-year revenue growth of 40% over the past two years. Phoenix’s investment will allow the business to double its current staffing numbers at its Edinburgh office to almost 100 people, creating a range of opportunities for the city’s diverse pool of talented technology and data experts.
As part of its commitment to Scottish business, Dufrain has also joined the Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE), the representative body for Scotland’s financial services industry, enabling it to help a wide range of firms with their data governance. This membership will also see Dufrain run events and webinars as well as contribute to the SFE Young Professionals (YP) Network, a scheme which supports people in the early stages of their career in Scotland’s financial services industry, by running a series of sessions on net zero strategy, mental health and sustainability practices.
The first of these events will be in November, giving attendees insights into their data, and how tidying and storing it properly will bring increased profit and better business opportunities.
Gerry Goodwin, Sales Director at Dufrain, commented:
“Dufrain may serve a global market, but we have never stopped being a Scottish company at heart and we will always want to find ways to strengthen our presence here while contributing to the community. The investment will help us provide almost double the number of jobs in our Edinburgh Headquarters while helping Scottish businesses to thrive. We look forward to working with the Scottish Financial Enterprise to achieve our vision for the Scottish data management sector in the coming months and years.”
Sandy Begbie CBE, CEO at Scottish Finance Enterprise, commented:
“Each new member we welcome adds different experience, fresh ideas and valuable diversity to our growing financial services ecosystem. Dufrain’s expertise in data management services and data analytics will be of huge value in this regard, particularly as the industry continues its path towards greater digitisation. We look forward to working closely with them in the months and years ahead.”
