Imserv appoints Robert Johnston as new Data Services Director to further strengthen position as UK energy efficiency leader

IMServ has made a new appointment to its leadership team to support the leading data and metering specialist’s ambitious energy efficiency goals.

Robert Johnston joins as Data Services Director to bring further support to its mission to improve UK businesses’ energy efficiency and help them make smarter decisions about their energy use.

Prior to his arrival at IMServ, Robert has had 21 years of experience in senior managerial roles in the Telecoms and Energy Sectors, most recently at SmartestEnergy and TotalEnergies.

At TotalEnergies, he played a key role in driving productivity and efficiency to end-to-end customers throughout the diverse TotalEnergies metering portfolio.

Robert achieved this through driving cost optimisation to businesses totalling millions of pounds for metering services and a strong comprehension of meter asset integrity and deployment of advanced metering for the UK efficiency strategy.

IMServ is one of the UK's leading data collectors and meter operators. The energy efficiency specialist is already making a real impact as the UK transitions to a low-carbon economy by helping the nation’s businesses drive efficiency and make intelligent decisions about their energy use.

Steve Brown, CEO of IMServ said: “Robert is a significant addition to IMServ, bringing his wealth of expertise to our industry-leading leadership team, which is at the forefront of energy efficiency transformation in the UK.

“Industrial and commercial users are more focused on data and metering than ever before due to the need for better-informed decisions on energy usage and efficiency.

“Robert’s result-driven experience will undoubtedly strengthen and complement our strong operational expertise while helping us to support more businesses in utilising the power of good data as we transition to a more sustainable future.”

Robert Johnston said: “It's more important than ever for businesses to realise the potential for energy efficiency improvements as the country builds momentum on its Net Zero ambitions.

“By integrating data and metering throughout the whole industry there is a significant opportunity for the UK to make the quick and positive progress that we need to see and achieve by 2030.

“From this perspective, it is a great opportunity for me to join IMServ at an exciting and transitional period for the energy industry, whilst strengthening its position as the leader in the UK for data and metering for both businesses and consumers.“
