Former Made in Chelsea star Binky Felstead is entering the UK tech scene by investing in bubble, the on-demand childcare platform that helps thousands of parents arrange trusted childcare. As a single mother of one, Binky has been using bubble for almost two years and is now an ambassador for the brand.

Binky first came across bubble when trying to find care for daughter India, calling the service a “saviour” for working mums. bubble is a marketplace, giving parents the flexibility, choice and control to choose the right babysitter for them. Every day, thousands of parents use bubble to arrange care so that they can work, rest and play.

The app connects mums and dads to the childcarers trusted and recommended by their friends and community. bubble’s rating system showcases a user’s reviews from previous sits, and every sitter on the platform must pass identity, background and reference checks before going live. An innovative on-demand insurance feature also means that every sit on bubble is covered by £1M public liability insurance. Every sit is tracked and parents pay easily and securely through the app at the end.

Even though this is Binky’s first investment in tech, the reality star is no stranger to entrepreneurship. She founded Mummy Tribe, an online publisher and event organiser aimed at mothers in all stages and across all areas of their parenting journey. She joins the Founders of Boohoo.com, Betfair and Photobox as investors in bubble.

Binky Felstead said: “Being a single and working parent can be quite overwhelming sometimes. Motherhood isn’t easy and it’s invaluable to know that trusted help is always an option. I first started using bubble because I realised I couldn’t do everything on my own and needed a helping hand. I’ve always been interested in investing and knowing bubble so well, it was a no brainer to back a company I love.”

Ari Last, father-of-three and bubble Founder, added: “We’re so happy to have Binky join our team of investors. She has been a power-user since early on so she knows the value of our service to parents. Like the thousands of parents in our community, Binky is smart, loving, hard-working and ambitious - and we set bubble up to support and enable mums and dads like her. We’re so excited to have her on board.”

Parents use the app for social and work purposes, as well as for emergency or unexpected situations that arise. Around 40% of sits on the app are booked during the daytime and 35 percent are booked within 48 hours’ notice. Parents on the platform are typically able to book childcare with as little as 30 minutes notice. Voted by Apple as ‘App of the Year’, bubble is rated 5 stars on Trustpilot and has over 100,000 members on the platform.
