Metaverse Learning secures funding worth c £1.5m

Metaverse Learning, a champion of online, immersive learning is set to grow its business and has recently secured investments worth circa £1.5m with the organisation being valued at £11m.

An investment of c. £1.5m, made by a number of organisations including Ufi Ventures, will support Metaverse Learning in achieving its vision to drive innovation in learning for the education sector.

This investment will be used to develop the new-to-market Assessor Mode feature in Metaverse Learning’s library of immersive training programs. This has been created in response to overwhelming feedback from both learners and customers over many years. For the first time, the technology is now available to provide in-program learner support functionality, making the Assessor Mode a game-changer in edtech. To enable this, a totally new platform is being launched, to collect and access learner data. Tutors will be able to deepen their understanding, personalise the learner journey and help their learners to succeed.

Alex Bishop from Ufi Ventures said:

"Learner engagement and confidence levels within virtual learning environments far exceed more traditional e-learning and classroom settings. We are delighted to be supporting Metaverse Learning, as they broaden the programmes they offer, reaching more learners.

Their approach to building out their rich library of immersive learning scenarios, working directly with educational and industry partners, ensures that the learning content is engaging and relevant for learners as well as cost effective and accessible for learning institutions.

They also intend to use the investment to nearly double their program library within the next year. Metaverse Learning currently works with circa 100 partners across the FE sector, industry, associations and employers to deliver a library of immersive virtual environment and virtual reality scenarios, covering a wide range of subject areas. Each program is co-created with education and industry partners to fulfil learning needs within each sector.

Metaverse Learning Co-Founders, Jason Holt CBE and Dr Majid Al-Kader said,

“With the backing of UFI Ventures and our investment partners, we will be driving growth across Metaverse Learning. This will give us the opportunity to reach new partners, create more programs across a depth and breadth of subject areas, and most importantly, have a positive impact on learners’ educational experience.”
