On a clear mission to bring an affordable, fully inclusive vegan, halal, dairy-free menu to the high street for the masses, the plant-based pioneers, Ready Burger, have just closed their first funding round with crowdcube, raising £2M, through 842 investors in return for 22.47% equity.

Having mastered the science behind taste & texture of plant-based foods to make them indistinguishable from their conventional counterparts, the team behind the pioneering concept have ambitious plans to roll out the UK's first scalable, value-driven, fully plant-based QSR brand.

Max Miller, CEO and Co-founder, Ready Burger said; “This investment will allow us to continue to drive forward our ambitious expansion plans, opening further venues across London, then nationally and eventually internationally, to bring plant-based food to the masses. It will also enable us to invest in the best food technology, innovative solutions and continue to ensure we deliver consistency of service and quality of product at each phase of growth.”

Sustainability is built into the very core of the Ready Burger concept with a progressive approach that means the brand’s offering doesn’t cost the earth – in more ways than one.  A Ready Burger uses 70% less water to make than its beef burger counterpart.  It also emits 92% less greenhouse gas emissions than a beef burger and requires 93% less land to produce.

Miller continues; “We are working directly with industry-leading manufacturers to sustainably produce our proteins, allowing us to create products that not only taste outstanding but also give us market acceptable margins on each of our menu items, even at this early stage. These costs will continue to improve as our economies of scale begin to grow.”

The full menu of flavoursome plant-based burgers alongside classic sides, with premium and saver choices, as well as a range of premium value meals can be experienced at their first restaurant in Crouch End (16 Park Road, London, N8 8TD), open Monday – Sunday, noon-midnight.

Options range from; The Saver Menu Ready Burger (£1.99), to The Big Ready (£3.59), to The Chicken Challenger (£4.29), to the Saver Menu Double Cheeseburger (£3.39) – all illustrating that plant-based options can taste just as good as their meat counterparts.

The team are soon to launch a second restaurant on Finchley Road, with a third and fourth site already in the pipeline.
