REAL HANDFUL wins two Great Taste Awards for their Plant Protein Bars

Manchester Based Real Handful, announces that they have won two Great Taste awards for their plant protein bars. The Sea Salt Caramellow, picked up a two-star award and the Choc Orange Chase bagged a one-star award.  Only 30% of 2019’s award-winning products were given two stars, so the brand made it into the top third of the prestigious awards. Both bars are plant-based, vegan friendly and gluten free. They’re available from retailers including Ocado.com, Asda, Waitrose, Sourced Market and Amazon.

Here’s a bit more about the bars and what the judging panel thought of them:

SEA SALT CARAMELLOW

This plant protein bar is made with smooth caramel and a sprinkle of sea salt and is completely free from refined sugar.

2 STAR GREAT TASTE AWARD – THE COMMENTS

“Well made, chewy, exactly the right level of sweetness – extremely moreish”

“Very moreish and satisfying – would be great in a pocket to munch on when out and about.”

“This is a generous bar with juicy fruit that has a good balance of seeds to fruit.”

CHOC ORANGE CHASE

It features zesty orange oil and has a rich cacao finish, plus it’s packed with plant protein goodness from cashews, peanuts, sunflower seeds and chia seeds.

1 STAR GREAT TASTE AWARD – THE COMMENTS

“The orange flavour is zesty and a bit like Terry’s chocolate orange. Looks great and nutritious but indulgent.”

“It is clever to produce a bar that manages this level of integrity, providing a valuable healthy energy bar for vegans and non-vegans alike.”

Joe Taylor, Co-founder at Real Handful, explains, “Receiving one is an honour so to receive two out of two was a bit special. We started out just making trail mix in 2016 but were really excited about launching our trail bars once they were in development as we felt we could bring something unruly and uniquely tasty to the bars market.”
