Small business champion Good Business Pays appoints Natalie Orringe as Non-Executive Director

Small business champion Good Business Pays today announced the appointment of Natalie Orringe as Non-Executive Director.

Natalie is an award-winning senior leader with a career spanning public, private and the third sector. Currently Assistant Chief Executive – Chief Marketing Officer (interim) for the London Borough of Newham, she has responsibility for leading a transformation in how Council’s use of data and creativity to improve engagement. In this role, Natalie co-leads the Council’s Cost of Living Taskforce and its People Powered Places programme, one of the largest participatory democracy initiatives in the UK.

Her previous experience includes senior roles at Access Intelligence PLC; the Institute of Development Studies; and as Deputy MD of award-winning PR agency, Teamspirit, where she specialised in developing campaigns to improve financial awareness and engagement for organisations including Age UK, Barclays, Standard Life and Vitality. Natalie is the author of ‘The New Immediacy of Communications’ on how technology is changing the relationship between consumers and money. Alongside her professional experience, Natalie is a trustee for Together Co, a Brighton and Hove based charity tackling loneliness and social isolation.

Commenting on Natalie’s appointment, Terry Corby CEO and Founder of Good Business Pays said: “Natalie is a seasoned campaigner and expert communicator. As the Good Business Pays campaign grows in impact and scope, Natalie will help guide us to ensure our messages resonate with the wide range of people we need to reach: Business; Government; Consumers and Investors. I am particularly pleased to have Natalie’s Local Authority experience on board as we want to better understand how money spent by local government helps small businesses in their areas thrive.

Natalie Orringe said: “In the debate on financial resilience and how we recover from the Cost-of-Living crisis there is simply not enough attention to the damage that late payment causes. If every supplier was paid as quickly as technology allows there would be fewer business failures and, most importantly, less uncertainty that causes lasting damage to owners and employees alike. For our economy to truly deliver for all, we need to end late payment. This is why I am delighted to be joining the Board of Good Business Pays and be part of contributing to making lasting change happen.”

Founded in 2021, Good Business Pays campaigns to encourage large businesses to adopt fast payment processes. It is now supported by financial behemoths that include Mastercard, Barclays, Natwest Group and Previse, as well as the Federation of Small Business, CBI, Institute of Directors, Make UK and the British Chambers of Commerce.

Good Business Pays recently appointed high profile NEDs to its Board: small business champion Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones MBE, also known as The Black Farmer and Philip King, the former UK Small Business Commissioner. Terry Corby added “Good Business Pays is a Community Interest Company looking to drive impact and positive change that will transform B2B payment culture in the UK. It’s heartening to see such well respected figures as Natalie, Philip and William giving their expertise to our cause. We will continue to add accomplished change-makers to our movement to help us support small businesses survive and thrive.
