The #ReputationisKING movement launches to dismantle crypto scams and build online reputation as the antidote

In 2021 alone, crypto scams and rug pulls were responsible for $2.8 billion in losses, according to Chainalysis. While scammers and hackers can’t be completely stopped, a new movement called #ReputationisKING aims to increase users’ financial literacy and decrease the industry’s negative experiences.

Following the tracks of movements like the #MeToo or #Occupy campaigns, which raised awareness on important social issues, the #ReputationisKING campaign encourages people to share both their negative and positive crypto experiences, so others can learn from them and apply them in their own crypto journey.

This social movement, launched by Coreto - and started within NEAR Protocol’s ecosystem, is on the lookout for its founding members. To this aim, Coreto is calling to action all project founders and entrepreneurs inside and outside of the Near Protocol, as well as influencers and key opinion leaders.

Those joining this expansive network will be known as the United Reputation Builders (URB). They will leverage their established professionalism and adopt a community-first approach, in line with the campaign’s mission to put the spotlight on the importance of Reputation building, actively giving back to users, and recognizing the ones who deserve it.

By having a unified voice of founders, experienced traders and investors, opinion leaders, and reputable community members, the overall reputation of the industry and of the NEAR ecosystem can be improved, creating a safer and more welcoming environment for everyone.

The main benefit of adhering to the movement as a URB member is having the free integration of Coreto’s Decentralised Reputation System (DRS) within their project or ecosystem.
Additionally, URB members will enjoy:

- having a spot in the “Founding Partners” section of the campaign’s website

- cross-marketing opportunities between all participants, growing the awareness of their project within the NEAR ecosystem and beyond

- taking part in addressing the longstanding issue of insufficient knowledge and trust in the crypto industry.

Marieke Flament, CEO NEAR Foundation, says, “Our reputation matters – a lot. It’s the only way to build, protect, and enhance your image as an individual or business. Through an awareness campaign revolving around the importance of having a verifiable Reputation, we welcome initiatives such as Coreto’s project and its Decentralised Reputation System, becoming the pioneers of a widespread crypto movement.”

Vlad Faraon, co-founder of Coreto, adds, “Before becoming builders and founders, we’ve all been retail investors. Admit it or not, most of us have gone - at least once - through the frustration of losing money in crypto. We can’t prevent people from doing bad investments or eliminate HYPE and FOMO shilling entirely, but we can educate them about crypto through our own experiences, by sharing quality content and publicly calling out the bad players that gain off the backs of their followers.”

To offer users a way to voice their involvement in the movement, as well as to support the further development, growth, and adoption of the DRS and Coreto platform, a “Reputation is KING” NFT Collection Sale will shortly become available. Besides adhering to the movement and providing their support, the NFT holders will also enjoy additional perks and use cases from their NFTs.

Iustina Faraon, CEO of Coreto, explains, “With the main goal of mutual support, through cross-marketing and awareness growth, we want to involve the URB members and #ReputationisKING partners in providing additional perks and utility to these NTFs within their own projects. Examples of partner perks include token drops, inDapp/game perks, free NFT mints and much more.”
