Vitality has today announced a new partnership with the UK's leading virtual psychology clinic, My OnlineTherapy, further bolstering the mental health support available to its health members.

The service, which went live this month, provides members* with mental health treatments such as, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, and Schema Therapy from highly qualified and experienced psychologists, which is all provided digitally through a video conferencing service.

VitalityHealth has a full range of mental health support and treatment available to its members, which aims to respond to the broad and varied nature of mental health issues affecting people. Through their partnership with My Online Therapy, which supplements their existing face to face talking therapy network, Vitality is providing members with more flexibility to receive mental health treatment in a way that suits them best, further enhancing their mental health offering and reflecting their commitment to providing a comprehensive package to members.

Dr Keith Klintworth, Group COO and Managing Director, VitalityHealth said: “With the pandemic changing life as we know it, there has never been a more important time to look after our mental health, and offering our members the right support in an accessible way is a priority for us.

“By partnering with My Online Therapy, Vitality is further extending our full package of mental health care available to our members, ensuring people are able to get the support and help when they need it.”

Vasileios Touronis, Chief Operating Officer & Co-founder of My Online Therapy added: “This partnership couldn’t have come at a better time. As we experience the unprecedented turmoil and uncertainty caused by Covid-19, now more than ever, people are seeing how critical their mental wellbeing is to their overall health.

“When we seek out partners we are always looking for businesses who support our mission, and VitalityHealth does exactly that. By working together, we will be able to provide convenient, high-quality psychological care at the click of a button, presenting Vitality’s members with the opportunity to connect with a psychologist from the comfort of their own home and fit therapy sessions around work, home and family life. Ultimately, we want to make therapy available to as many people as possible and VitalityHealth is the catalyst we need to make this happen.”

Vitality’s focus is on maintaining good mental health, and providing early intervention through talking therapies where it is needed. All VitalityHealth members* have access to eight sessions of out-patient mental health treatment through a talking therapies network and the option to add more comprehensive Mental Health Cover to their plan, which covers them in full for talking therapy and includes access to in-patient and day-patient mental health treatment for more severe conditions. Members can self-refer for talking therapy where they will now be offered the choice of receiving treatment through My Online Therapy or in-person.

As part of their core purpose - to make people healthier and to enhance and protect their lives - Vitality also provides tools and incentives to its members to promote better physical and mental wellbeing. VitalityHealth members* have access to Togetherall - a 24/7 online mental health community - while all Vitality members have access to mindfulness apps, such as Headspace, Buddhify and Calm, and are incentivised with Vitality points for using them.
