Assessment of patients prior to procedures in hospitals affects 12m patients in the UK alone. It is a long inconsistent process that costs the NHS over £500m per year. The development of a patient led tool to streamline this process has improved patient satisfaction rates, improved consistency of medical assessment, reduced complications and reduced costs. There have been 4 separate studies to prove the clinical benefits and two separate financial studies to show a reduction of costs by one third. It has also resulted in the digital transformation of services within 5 hospitals since its launch.
In the 9 months since launch we have registered over 12000 patients nationally, been awarded 5 separate hospital contracts, had 4 scientific presentations and generated significant revenue streams. Most importantly we have high patient satisfaction rates with the digitalisation of the service through 4 separate independent hospital surveys. We have transformed this major aspect of medical care in the UK.
