8 new startups pitching at TechPitch 4.5

New Tech is exciting; it's intriguing to find out what new technology we have to look forward as we go through the year. To keep us in the know TechPitch 4.5 is back. The purpose of TechPitch 4.5 is to provide UK and European tech startups with a platform to build awareness, gain investment and constructive feedback by presenting to and networking with investors, industry experts, potential clients and partners.

TechPitch 4.5, the pitch competition for tech startups and investors created by 2Pears is announcing the 8 new tech start-ups selected to pitch and the stellar judging panel line-up for the event taking place on Tuesday 31 January.

Petra Johansson, co-founder of 2Pears, comments: “The process of finding start-ups, or facilitating paths for start-ups to find the right investor and/or corporate partner, remains the crucial first step in any potential collaboration. TechPitch 4.5 is now entering its sixth year of connecting start-ups, investors, corporates and angels in an informal and helpful environment. In 2016, we expanded our range of verticals, making it easier for those looking to invest in start-ups to seek out the right collaboration, and we’ll continue growing with new verticals, partners and markets in 2017.”

The eight start-ups selected to pitch are:

Cirxle - a platform solving the problem of connecting people by giving them the ability to exchange contact details instantly

Flexciton - a platform that improves the efficiency of rotating equipment

LabCore/iShake - a mobile app platform for authentic and transparent ratings by shaking your smartphone

Makerble - a mobile app that works offline, enabling a charity's staff to collect impact data wherever they are in the world, about any of the people and projects they work with

ReactAI - a complete robotic assembly solution on-demand

SoundVault - a global market place for music licensing

Wevolve - a solution for changing work behaviour delivered via mobile technology to all employees

Zap Waste - an on-demand waste collection service for households focusing on disposable nappies to divert them from landfill to recycling.

The judging panel for the evening:

  • Ian Betteridge, Editor, Alphr.com, Dennis Publishing
  • Anna Björnemark, Advisor to the Director for Sweden, Iceland and Estonia; Board of Directors, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
  • Una Carney, Planning Director, Creative and Integrated Marketing, Viacom
  • Xaver Matt, Founder & CEO, Netleadz

The judging panel is chaired by Danvers Baillieu, COO of Cognitive Logic, a start-up building products for data scientists.

The winning startup will receive, in addition to a bottle of bubbly, a growth clinic with Netleadz, the digital marketing agency, to help build an audience and develop visibility, awareness and reach. Additionally, Pinsent Masons, as part of its Bootlaw initiative, is offering a consultation free of charge to each of the pitching startups to discuss their legal needs.

If you would like to attend the event, the evening pitch competition takes place on Tuesday 31 January, with a 6.30pm kick-off at the Pinsent Masons’ HQ in London, 30 Crown Place, EC2A.
