Baserow launches Baserow Enterprise to accelerate data governance using no-code, open-source applications

Baserow, an open-source, no-code database collaborative platform startup, has launched Baserow Enterprise. This is a new enterprise version to help large teams to centralise company data, collaborate effectively, and rapidly build applications and automated workflows to digitalise business processes. This new enterprise-tier version comes with advanced user management to meet data governance and security requirements using open-source technology and provide direct priority support. Baserow has developed the new enterprise version as part of its roadmap to create what is the world's first open-source, all-in-one, no-code toolchain.

Since the pandemic, open-source adoption has seen unprecedented growth. According to the Open Source Initiative, 77% of a global survey respondents said they have increased the use of open-source software in their organisations over the last 12 months. During that time, open-source software enterprise users have reported improving their ability to scale, accelerate innovation and cut costs across the business. However, compliance and data governance concerns remain significant barriers for some enterprise users despite this success. A 2022 survey revealed that just 10% of companies had established data governance across their whole organisation.

Baserow Enterprise is designed to rectify these barriers by supporting large teams in data and process-rich industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, technology, media and entertainment, financial services, and the public sector. With its best-in-class interoperability capability, Baserow Enterprise users can build their database to collaborate on projects or build applications and workflows to digitalise entire processes, all without the need for coding skills.

Baserow Enterprise users can access the platform's premium features - including row colouring, row comments, and additional data export formats. Furthermore, Baserow Enterprise is available to enterprise-level users with self-hosting capabilities. As a result, users can enjoy unlimited capacity and the ability to choose how they secure their Baserow applications with our new single sign-on feature, and can gain access to priority support to help teams deploy Baserow across their business quickly and seamlessly.

"We are excited to launch Baserow Enterprise. The new version offers users the combination of open-source, extensibility, self-hosting, and enterprise-grade user management," said Olivier Maes, co-founder and CRO, Baserow. "Since the pandemic, open-source applications have been widely recognised as an enterprise-scale alternative to vendor lock-in software. That is why Baserow has invested in the platform to address the biggest challenges for our enterprise users to drive greater adoption across organisations, while addressing data governance and scalability requirements."

"Baserow Enterprise offers an all-in-one solution for daily visual management in manufacturing plants. Information from various whiteboards, paper sheets, and Excel files becomes structured data in Baserow to be displayed on our connected wallboards," said Claire Jolimont, CEO, Pingflow. "We chose Baserow as the no-code database for our solution because it is an open-source platform we can host for our customers, with features constantly evolving and a great team aligned with our values."

According to Forrester Research, one-third of professional developers use no-code tools to simplify development and speed build times. Unsurprisingly, Gartner predicts 65% of app development will be done through low- or no-code tools by 2024.

Baserow Enterprise’s key features and capabilities:

  • Role-Based Access Control: Baserow role-based access control (RBAC) helps teams manage complex access protocols, such as vetting who to grant data and resources access to and what they can do with the information.

  • Administration Panel: The new administration panel will enable administrators to create access rules and keep an overview of every user license in the company.

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): Baserow Enterprise allows customers to use any multi-tenant SaaS applications to log in using the SSO credentials provided by any identity solution they choose.

  • Priority Direct Support: Baserow will offer tiered-enterprise support contracts for customers with operational and deployment support depending on need.

Baserow is a platform that enables non-technical teams to capture and organise data to trigger intelligent business insights and automate processes. The software is designed for teams from HR and marketing to finance and operations departments to quickly and efficiently build personalised applications with a scalable database.

Unlike its competitors, Baserow is an open-source platform offering customers the choice of SaaS or self-hosting solutions, freeing users from vendor lock-in. As an API-first platform, Baserow integrates seamlessly with any tool needed to build a no-code stack. Finally, Baserow is designed for scale to remain fast and stable at vast volumes of data.

Basesrow Enterprise is available for general release from 1 November 2022.
