Birmingham Tech Week 2023: Full schedule and speakers announced
The full schedule for the UK’s largest regional tech festival, Birmingham Tech Week, has officially been announced. The events, taking place from 16-20 October 2023, will feature talks from a host of leading minds, such as Ian Stuart, CEO at HSBC UK; Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands; Paul Scully MP, Minister for London; and Henrietta Brealey, CEO of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
Birmingham Tech Week 2023 is set to be the biggest in the event’s four-year history, with 7,500 people estimated to attend across five days. Starting the week off with a bang is the Tech Leadership Breakfast, sponsored by HSBC, speakers on the event’s panel include the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street; Carolyn Dawson OBE, CEO of Founders Forum; Paul Scully MP, Minister for London; and CEO of HSBC UK, Ian Stuart. Other speakers throughout the week include leaders from Amazon, Microsoft, Accenture, IBM and Jaguar Land Rover.
Those attending Birmingham Tech Week will get the scoop on some of the region’s most exclusive tech news and announcements, including the findings of TechUK’s Local Digital Capital Index – being launched at TechUK’s dedicated fringe event on Monday – as well as a wealth of exciting business and leadership updates.
While there are main events aplenty – including a Digital Skills Symposium on Tuesday, a conference to showcase the tech of tomorrow on Wednesday and a Scale-Up Summit on Thursday – Birmingham Tech Week 2023 will also showcase the region’s innovative thinkers at fringe events throughout the week.
Those looking to find out if data really does matter in real estate will hear from industry experts and discuss with thought leaders the importance of data for the real estate sector, at Supertech’s dedicated fringe event on Tuesday, in partnership with The Real Estate Data (RED) Foundation.
Fintech fans, on the other hand, might be more interested in BNP Paribas Personal Finance’s Wednesday fringe event; a live connector in partnership with SuperTech, which invites AI businesses for an exploratory exchange of innovative ideas, products and services, to inform their future roadmap.
Whether it is HealthTech, CreaTech, Future Mobility tech, or something else entirely, national and international businesses and investors looking to locate in the West Midlands need look no further than West Midlands Growth Company’s fringe events. Taking place throughout Birmingham Tech Week, these events will showcase the city’s tech talent, from the CreaTech ecosystem in the Custard Factory to an exploration of the region’s 5G capabilities at the University of Wolverhampton.
To round off the week, 1,000 tech experts and digital leaders will be in attendance at the Black-Tie Dinner & Tech Awards – a chance to celebrate the tech ecosystem in the West Midlands, with the people who make it so great.

Since the first Birmingham Tech Week in 2019, the festival has grown 20% year-on-year and has featured talks and input from some of the West Midlands’ best innovators and entrepreneurs. This year will welcome speakers from Microsoft, Amazon, Jaguar Land Rover, IBM, and Cisco to name a few.
