ShipBob to open newest European fulfilment centre in the Netherlands

ShipBob, the leading global omnifulfilment platform, today announced the launch of a new European fulfilment centre in the Netherlands. The new location is anticipated to begin shipping parcels in July, and is ShipBob’s fifth European location.

According to ShipBob’s State of Ecommerce Fulfilment Report, approximately 37 percent of ecommerce brands plan to ship to or fulfill from new countries in 2023. With European ecommerce sales predicted to reach $730 billion in 2023, the European ecommerce market represents a great opportunity to unlock international growth.

“As we’ve grown our UK and European business over the last 12 months, the next logical step was a Netherlands based fulfilment location,” said Enda Breslin, GM Europe at ShipBob. “For brands looking to grow their European business, the Netherlands is a great location. Europe’s busiest seaport of Rotterdam is located there, making getting your goods from manufacturers

easy. On the doorstep of mainland Europe’s first and second biggest ecommerce markets of Germany and France, our customers can easily get their orders to those shoppers in two days or less,” said Breslin.

ShipBob is expanding its European capacity due to increased demand in the region. ShipBob merchants will be able to ship across Europe and worldwide. Distributing inventory across ShipBob’s network of 40+ global fulfilment centres helps brands further, shipping locally versus cross-border. ShipBob merchants are able to reduce delivery distances and costs, tax and duties challenges that come with international shipping, enabling a local experience for more of their customers.

"We were really excited to hear that ShipBob was opening a Netherlands fulfillment centre as working with Shipbob has enabled Owl Labs to efficiently ship to global customers,” said Danielle Brown, Sr. Director of Global Supply. ShipBob has always been a supportive partner and having our goods in the Netherlands means that our customers will receive their packages quickly, added Brown."

Existing and new ShipBob customers can utilise the Netherlands fulfilment centre (and any other ShipBob fulfilment centres in other countries) through one login, while viewing real-time inventory levels, order information, and shipping details across all physical locations and sales channels. Merchants can pay and view the ShipBob dashboard in local currency (Euro), in addition to utilising local and international couriers including Spring Global, GLS, Deutsche Post, and UPS.
