Support Female Artisans around the world with SO JUST SHOP

SO JUST SHOP is an online marketplace working with women-led artisan groups from all over the world.  The mission is economic empowerment of women and the aim is to raise 250,000 women and their families out of abject poverty.

All of the SO JUST SHOP products are handcrafted by female artisans from some of the most vulnerable communities in the world; communities which will be impacted terribly, both by the health threats posed by Coronavirus and the economic impact on their families.  Communities where, if ability to work is disrupted, there are no safety nets to fall back on to be able to afford even the most basic necessities of life.

So Just Shop want to be able to continue to support all of their artisan suppliers through these uncertain times and are continuing to operate online to ensure they see this through. However, many of the groups will be unable to work or produce their goods due to imposed lockdowns, and so SJS have devised a plan which will allow them to offer financial support through the crisis. 

How will it work? - SJS have approached groups in the most adversely affected areas and asked them to design a product with prices starting from as low as £12.99, which they will produce and supply as soon as they are able to return to 'normal' working practices. These products are available to pre-purchase now here and ALL profits from sale of these products will go directly back to the artisan groups to help sustain them through this period. 

In addition, you can add a voluntary donation to your purchase, which will equate to a specific staple item for a family to buy – for example the cost of a bag of rice, or a basket of vegetables. SJS are committed to transferring all of the profits and anything additional, back to the groups as soon as they practically can, to ensure that funds keep flowing to allow the women and their families to buy at least the basics they will continue to need. Once things return to some sort of normality, products will be produced, shipped and SJS will inform you as soon as they are ready to be dispatched.
