Young people to join business woman Linda Plant - The Apprentice ‘Queen of Mean’
Linda Plant, one of Britain’s most successful business leaders and a regular on BBC’s The Apprentice, will be sharing her rags to riches story and business advice, at a Prince’s Trust, online event on 6 August. Targeted at young entrepreneurs, attendees will be inspired by Linda’s business expertise, while also acquiring the confidence to grow or start trading.
Linda came from humble beginnings and is now helping others to forge their own careers and business path too, with her Business Academy and personally written Blueprint Business Course. After leaving school at 16 Linda progressed quickly from selling fashion from a Leeds market stall, to launching her international knitwear brand, Honeysuckle, which she sold for millions. After taking the company back she later became one of the first women to head a fashion company flotation becoming a PLC.
Known as ‘The Queen of Mean’ for her no-nonsense interviews on BBC The Apprentice’s final five candidates, Linda provided advice to Sir Alan Sugar over 5 seasons.
Today, Linda runs highly successful property development, interior design businesses and her Linda Plant Business Academy.
Linda Plant commented: ‘I am here to empower the next generation of business leaders. I’m really looking forward to sharing my experience and business knowledge with entrepreneurs across the country.’
The event is the brainchild of Prince’s Trust volunteer and business mentor Hadi Ibrahim. Hadi has volunteered with The Trust for almost two years. He also runs his own property investment business and is a career coach.
Hadi Ibrahim said: ‘As a Prince’s Trust business mentor, I’ve met many young people who have a desire to work for themselves and with the help of mentors like myself, they have achieved their goal.
‘I’m so pleased that Linda has agreed to take part in this event. Linda has incredible experience in the business world and has the ability to inspire young people who may be on the brink of starting their own business or looking to develop their existing business. The Prince’s Trust can support young people to achieve their business ideas as part of the Enterprise programme and this event will hopefully give them the confidence to call The Trust or visit the website to find out more.’
This online event will be hosted by Hadi Ibrahim and Cordell Jeffers, an entrepreneur and Prince’s Trust Young Ambassador. As well as hearing from Linda Plant, attendees will also have the opportunity to be mentored by Linda and ask questions.
