32-year-old Boris Hodakel is the founder and CEO of online fashion manufacturing platform, Sewport.com.
Boris previously worked in sales, marketing and insurance before he moved to London from Latvia five years ago to be with his now wife. In 2015 he tried to sell a Latvian clothing brand into the UK market – a way of introducing ‘a bit of his former home’ to his new home, and began his career in the niche world of fashion manufacturing.
Over three years he worked with countless fashion students and boutique designers who were struggling to get their designs into production. Through his connections and experience, he helped 200 small brands get on the production run, some of these include designers who have showcased their fashion in retailers like Selfridges and on the red carpet. It was at this point Boris realised there was a real demand for this level of manufacturing and the associated stages to get there, and so launched Sewport.com in 2017.
Currently, Sewport has more than 500 suppliers working with more than 4,000 brands around the world.
Sewport.com connects small to medium sized fashion brands and designers with manufacturers, enabling them to bring their designs to life, from clothes to handbags, easily and cost effectively.
