Disruptive insurance provider Tapoly takes home prize at British Small Business Awards 2018

On-demand insurer Tapoly has been named Insurance Provider of the Year at this week's British Small Business Awards 2018.

Despite coming up against fierce competition in the Insurance category from the likes of Qdos Contractor, AXA PPP healthcare, Heath Crawford, SES Home Services, Digital Risks and Nimbla, The Insurance Provider of the Year category recognised Tapoly as the organisation that best addresses the needs of SMEs, with the judges considering quality of service, value for money and breadth of cover.

Tapoly is Europe’s first on-demand insurance provider for the gig economy, providing self employed freelancers, sole traders, contractors, small businesses, and anyone else who is part of the sharing economy or gig economy with flexible cover within minutes. Tapoly provides per-day cover which cuts costs for customers when compared with annual policies – customers can opt in and out whenever needed and many different types of work-related risk are covered.

Janthana Kaenprakhamroy, founder of Tapoly, commented on the win saying: “The whole team at Tapoly is incredibly proud of this award. We’ve put in so much hard work to get to where we are now, and recognition like this really makes it all feel worth it. We were up against a lot of tough competition from some amazing companies and we felt incredibly honoured just to be nominated alongside them!”

In 2017 Tapoly was named a Top 100 European Fintech Award winner, and Janthana has previously been shortlisted amongst the Fintech Champions of the Year at the Women in Finance Awards. Janthana has also been named one of the Top 10 Insurtech Female Influencers as ranked by The Insurance Institute.

“2018 has been an unbelievable year for Tapoly in which we’ve seen our vision truly begin to make a difference, and we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store,” added Janthana.

The awards ceremony took place Wednesday 31st October at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London and was organised by smallbusiness.co.ukgrowthbusiness.co.uk and Bonhill Group plc, and sponsored by Information Age, workingmums, Small Business Grants, Kensington, Salesforce, DiversityQ and Belvedere Communications with partners Centre for Entrepreneurs, Save the High Street, Dalstonsbusiness, Exporting is Great, The Guardian Admanager and the Forum of Private Business.
