Uber Eats partners with Flyt to streamline restaurant delivery operations

As part of Uber Eats’ commitment to helping its network of restaurants adapt and thrive in the growing food delivery space, hospitality tech disruptor Flyt has today announced a worldwide partnership with the UK’s fastest growing food delivery app.

Working with Flyt provides Uber Eats with the opportunity to significantly and rapidly grow penetration in the key food delivery market as it enables its partner restaurants the opportunity to fully integrate food delivery into their day-to-day operations.

It comes after recent research from Barclaycard showed consumer spending on online restaurant delivery services rose by nearly 20% in May 2018 compared to the same period last year.

The partnership will launch with more than 100 stores across the UK and Europe, including UK national chains such as Papa Johns, Itsu, Boparan Group, and Vapiano in Austria. More than 1000 restaurants are expected to sign up by the end of the year.

“While Uber Eats is undoubtedly driving significant growth for many restaurants, we’ve also heard from owners that operating two point of sale systems can be inefficient and time consuming. In response to feedback from restaurants, we’re excited to be able to leverage Flyt’s point-of-sale technology to offer our restaurant-partners access to a simple and seamless way to integrate food delivery into their day to day operations,”said Toussaint Wattinne, General Manager, Uber Eats UKI.

Thanks to Flyt’s best-in-class technology, operators who work with Uber Eats will have customer orders directly processed via the POS (Point of Sale), reducing the processing time for front of house teams to get the orders to the kitchen and minimising manual keying errors.

When restaurant orders are integrated in this way, Flyt estimates it is able to save one hour of manual POS labour each day. This, in turn, means restaurant staff can focus more on delivering quality customer service.

Tom Weaver, CEO, Flyt commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Uber Eats to the Flyt platform. They’ve joined the integration revolution, where the best digital services are able to realise full potential through tight alignment with restaurant operations. The beauty of Flyt is it enables external tech platforms and apps to ‘talk to’ existing internal operating systems, to provide a more seamless experience for the customer and free up time for staff.

“Flyt is on a mission to help restaurant operators bring new digital services into their business in days - not months. We’re now working with thousands of restaurants, and some of the best loved hospitality brands in the UK, to streamline their operations with a universal integration platform that connects major services directly to POS.”

With a rapidly growing ecosystem of integrated services, Flyt’s universal platform has become the key technology for operators looking to link digital experiences to physical environments in hospitality.

The platform makes it simple and hassle-free for operators to adopt and install new customer-facing technology, integrated into their existing systems. Through its APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), the platform can power and integrate a variety of experiences such as: Pay at Table, Delivery, Bar Tabs, Order at Table, Order Ahead, Table Management, Digital Voucher Redemption, Food Ratings, and many other solutions built the best service providers.
